Blessing of the Fleet

Celebrate the beginning of this year’s boating season by joining the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for an April 22 Blessing of the Fleet ceremony. The ceremony honors the museum’s floating fleet as well as other Chesapeake Bay working vessels and pleasure craft, with prayers offered for a safe and bountiful season. On-land participants will meet at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 under the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse, which overlooks the Miles River at CBMM. The event is free and open to the public.
