Oxford Library

In 1939, Oxford was mired in the Great Depression, the high school had closed, and travel to Easton was not an everyday event. Margaret Parsons Hanks believed that there should be books easily available year-round for students and adults alike. She learned that W.P.A. funds could be secured for a local library; with wide support within the community, the Oxford Library was born.

Oxford-Bellevue Ferry

The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry is believed to be America’s oldest privately owned ferry. From mid-April until the October, the ferry operates throughout the week and weekends. Please check the website for current schedule.

St Michaels Museum at St. Mary’s Square

Talbot County Vietnam Memorial

The Talbot county Vietnam Veterans Memorial was erected in 1988 in remembrance of relatives of the 10 Talbot county residents who lost their life in this war. The purpose of the memorial is to express gratitude, honor and respect to all Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans for the time, effort, courage, and loyalty they gave in the service to their country during those turbulent times.
