It’s the Academy Art Museum’s 5th year of the Summer Art Challenge but their first on Zoom! A painting a day for 14 days with Diane Dubois Mullaly! Thursdays in August from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. will be for all mediums and all levels of experience.
This Summer Challenge makes history as the first virtual Academy Art Museum class via Zoom. Now, no matter where you live, you can enroll and join us! Based on the philosophy of the Daily Painting movement; creating one small artwork each day is a great way to loosen up, improve quickly, discover new concepts, and develop the discipline to get into the studio every day. Paintings are typically 6”x 6” or 5”x 7” and can be any subject, painted from life or from photos. The instructor will email a handout to each enrolled student the day before class begins. The first class introduces the concept and suggests a variety of approaches to it, and then the instructor and students all paint together virtually via Zoom. Over the following two weeks, each enrolled artist independently paints one painting a day in their home studio; then on Thursday shows that week’s work on Zoom for an individual critique and group discussion. The last week, ALL paintings are reviewed, and the painters are able to see their personal growth and progress. The instructor will take on this exciting Summer Challenge alongside the enrolled artists, and offer her insight and tips along the way. Don’t miss it! www.dianeduboismullaly.com
