The First Annual Classic Autofest will be held during Concours Weekend. Do you like old cars? Are you interested in a great story? The Classic Motor Museum will host its first annual Autofest on September 22, 2018 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the museum grounds at 102 E. Marengo St in St. Michaels. Join us for this family friendly, fun filled festival as Richard and Doug Bassemir become the first presenters to tell their story, “Chasing Grandpa”, in our new Struthers Family Education Center. The brothers found their Grandfather’s journal and discovered that in 1916, he journeyed from New Jersey to California in a 1917 Maxwell Model 25 touring car. They decided to recreate the trip 100 years later. The 1917 Maxwell will become part of the museum collection for six months. There will be plenty to see at Autofest! In addition to our museum collection, 20 hand picked Classic Cars will be on display as will a MD State Police car and a Talbot County Sheriff’s vehicle. Joe Gamble will be on hand to share his Talbot Goes Purple initiative, Kenny Haddaway will perform live, and food will be available. Admission is $15 for non-members. Members are free. Join us for this “all things automotive” event as we raise funds for our education program. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Talbot Goes Purple initiative.
