Non-profits throughout Talbot County will be working together, along with local restaurants and others, to offer a socially-distanced Community Day – Arts & Culture Celebration. Participating organizations will offer a wide range of programming (for adults, families, kids) that showcases their community commitment and their individual missions – which, when taken all together, make Talbot County unique! Programs ranging from family art activities, lectures, a drive through art gallery, conservation activities, music and many more will be taking place at a variety of locations, many of which will be outdoors.
FEATURED EVENT -PUMPKIN CARVE, artistically carved pumpkins, a live carving demo, and activities for kids, will be part of the November 14th Easton Community Day. Designed and carved pumpkins will be downtown on display for all! Pumpkins will be carved by the sculptors from Ice Lab, the same team that created the ice sculptures on display during the inaugural Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival.
As part of Community Day, the Avalon Foundation will host “Art For the Outdoors” (AFTO) a Covid 19 inspired driving exhibition and sale of artwork produced by local artists. The artwork exhibited will be designed for permanent installation outdoors. The drive thru exhibition and sale will be held Saturday, November 14 from 10 am- 4 pm and Sunday, November 15 from noon-4 pm (the weekend during which the town has historically hosted the Waterfowl Festival). Artwork will be displayed along Hanson Street between South Street and Idlewild Avenue in Easton, MD and can be viewed on foot with proper social distancing or from the comfort and safety of your car. This event is rain or shine.
