Frederick Douglass’s People: The Baileys of Talbot County in Slavery and Freedom

Talbot County Free Library welcomes Professor Ezra Greenspan who currently serves as the Patrick Henry Writing Fellow, at Washington College. He will discuss his current research, a multi-generational family biography titled, Frederick Douglass’ People: A Family Biography. “It recounts the life of Frederick Douglass in relation to the lives of his relatives-ancestors, siblings, cousins, wives, children, and grandchildren,” he said. Greenspan is the former chair of the English Department at Southern Methodist University and the founder of its Ph.D. program. As the Patrick Henry Fellow, Greenspan is conducting a student workshop at Washington College titled “Life Writing on the Eastern Shore.”
