“The band infuses their grassy tornado with brazen punk attitude and catchy pop structure, while simultaneously remaining vehemently sincere.” Pitchfork
While they may come across as Americana, the Hackensaw Boys have a grittier, almost punkish side to their old-timey string band sound.
Their unique style and solid songcraft have enabled them to tour with a bevy of diverse acts, including: The Flaming Lips, Cracker, Modest Mouse, Camper Van Beethoven, The Detroit Cobras, Cake, Railroad Earth, Cheap Trick, and De La Soul.
