Hiroya Tsukamoto

February 20, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Hiroya Tsukamoto is a one of a kind composer, guitarist, and singer-songwriter from Kyoto, Japan.

Classically trained at the Berklee College of Music, the award-winning performer has quite an impressive resume: he’s released a number of albums, played at several folk and jazz festivals as well as at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York, and has shared the stage with Pete Kennedy (The Kennedys), Esperanza Spalding, Marta Gomez, and Dave Maxwell (Muddy Waters Band), among others.

His music, described as “cinematic guitar poetry,” is a unique and original fusion of jazz, South American folkloric rhythms, Western harmonies, and the lyricism of traditional Japanese melodies.
