Featured this January on NPR’s All Songs Considered, Joy on Fire is a punk jazz sax/bass/drum trio originally from Baltimore and now based in Princeton, New Jersey.
Their second album, “Fire with Fire,” released by Maryland’s Procrastination Records, was given a 4-star review in All About Jazz by Gareth Thompson, who called the record “a thrill of high voltage jazz’n’roll,” and made Goncalo Falcao’s—of Portugal’s Jazz.pt—“Best of 2018” list.
They’re not ones to rest on their musical laurels, however. Check out their new single “Hymn” online at NPR’s All Songs Considered (it’s from Joy on Fire’s upcoming third album of the same name).
And be sure to hear them perform live in the Stoltz to find out why Joy on Fire is a favorite all along the eastern seaboard—from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Burlington, Vermont.
