As part of the “Importance of Music in Sacred Space” series taking place at the Temple B’Nai Israel, the Oltre Ponte Trio, which includes Dr. Elizabeth Brown, Zack Stachowski and Nevin Dawson will present selections from an array of composers and time periods showcasing works written and arranged for the uncommon violin, viola and piano.
Dr. Brown holds a B. A. in English Literature and a Bachelor of Music in Solo Piano Performance and has recently completed doctoral studies a the University of Maryland. She is currently on faculty at the University of MD as Lecturer in piano chamber music and also teaches International School of Music in Bethesda.
Zach Stachowski has played with many orchestral and chamber groups and as a soloist throughout the U. S. He completed his M.M. in Violin Performance from the University of Maryland and is presently serving as Director of Music at St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Nevin Dawson studied viola at Penn State and has played with many symphonies and chamber ensembles. He currently teaches violin, viola, and cello at Music Life in Chestertown, MD. He is a versatile player in many genres including classical, folk and jazz.
