Philip Dutton & the Alligators play music from, about, and for Louisiana and New Orleans—everything from Satchmo and N.O. Trad to Cajun, Zydeco, funk, and boogie. Think of a musical jambalaya blend of Dr. John, the Meters, Neville Brothers, Allen Toussaint, Professor Longhair, and the subdudes.
Philip was born and raised in Louisiana and cut his teeth on the music from the bayou dancing the two step to Clifton Chenier at the LSU student union. The band includes Pres Harding, an Eastern Shore native, on guitar: Marc Dykeman, well known as bass man for the Chester River Runoff and the High & Wides; and Ray Anthony, drummer extraordinaire…and the possibility that a horn player or two may add some spice to the mix!
