Steve Forbert

November 18, 2016 @ 8:00 pm

As a young man hoping to make it in the music biz, Steve Forbert traveled from Meridian, Mississippi, to New York City and began his career by playing guitar for spare change in Grand Central Station.

With a talent like his, Steve soon vaulted to international prominence and critical acclaim with a folk-rock hit, “Romeo’s Tune,” during a time when rootsy rock was fading out and the Ramones, Talking Heads and other New Wave and punk acts were moving in to the public consciousness.

After all these years, Steve’s still going strong by remaining true to his musical roots amid the shifting sands of pop music fads.
