For the month of May Trippe Hilderbrandt Gallery in Easton will be celebrating “The Art of the Garden” with a special exhibit of botanical and floral paintings and fine art photographs. The idea behind the show was an inspiration of gallery owner Nanny Trippe to coincide with the 79th Annual Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage and the tour in Talbot County on May 14.
The show will serve as a tribute to Trippe’s parents, Barclay and Nancy Trippe. Trippe’s mother, Nancy, was a past chairman of the Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage and a founding member of The Garden Club of the Eastern Shore which is still vibrant today and completed a beautiful restoration of Easton’s Thompson Park of which the club is stewards. “My parents loved to garden. My dad was especially proud of the Camellias he grew and the many daffodils he planted-both knew them all by genus and species-it made a big impression on me. Their gardens were very informal and they took great pleasure in each species as it appeared and bloomed.”
The show will feature fine art photographs by Trippe taken in her own garden as well as gardens visited with The Garden Club of the Eastern Shore.
Please come enjoy this diverse exhibit and attend the special opening reception on Saturday May 14 from 5-8 pm. The Trippe-Hilderbrandt Gallery is located at 23 N Harrison St in Historic Easton-just down the street from the Tidewater Inn.
