Frank Solivan of the multi-Grammy-nominated Dirty Kitchen Band is joined by talented flute/bass/vocalist Jillian Lea for a special night of bluegrass, Celtic, and folk music in the Stoltz!
Solivan is a multi-instrumentalist who sings with power and passion, writes articulate songs that go straight to the heart, and combines the pure, hard drive of classic bluegrass with contemporary twenty-first century acoustic music. Nominated for 2018 IBMA Instrumental Player of the Year (Mandolin) and named IBMA’s Banjo Player of the Year in 2013, he is known for his blistering chops on the mandolin, but is also a talented fiddle player.
Jillian Lea grew up playing classical, folk, jazz, and Celtic music with her twin sister and music-loving parents. She started performing as a young girl with her sister and mother at church and later, continuing their spiritual development, moved to Irish pubs. She was classically trained on the flute at George Mason University before focusing more attention on the pennywhistle. In more recent years, she has become enamored with the world of bluegrass and the upright bass, and has toured with regional and national acts for decades.
