North Carolina-based singer-songwriter Hugh Ellis Bennett improvises an indie/progressive bluegrass/folk sound through flatpicking and vocal melodies. The heartfelt musical style that results during Bennett’s shows can’t help but pull people together, despite their similarities or differences.

Starting with a simple philosophy that assumes from dust to dust, we are all the same, Bennett sees his music acting as a thread that helps to hold us together and remind us of that crucial point in a world that seems to have forgotten it.
