“Washington is one of a new generation of blues artists working hard to maintain the values of the genre. His ‘Sweet Mama’ is classic electric blues with biting guitar work and impassioned vocal.” Soul&Jazz&Funk.com
Born in New York City and living much of his life in Philly, Jeff Washington serves up a diverse array of funk, blues, jazz, rock, and R&B with a classic urban feel.
Studying under guitar guru Dennis Sandole (who taught Pat Martino and Mike Sembello), he’s also honed his skills as a songwriter, keyboardist, and vocalist over many years of hard work…and, man, have those efforts really paid off!
Jeff has performed in concert and toured with the likes of Chaka Kahn, Melba Moore, Lee Andrews and The Hearts, Chubby Checker, Mary Wells, Albert King, and Dee Dee Bridgewater (to name just a few legends). As if that’s not impressive enough, his song “Sweet Mama” recently won Blues Song of the Year at the Greek Grammys in Athens.
