Nestled along the picturesque shores of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Talbot County offers numerous ways to soak in the beauty of the outdoors while enjoying vibrant community events.
Farm Fresh Finds at Farmer’s Markets
One of the best ways to experience the local flavor and support regional growers is by visiting one of Talbot County’s farmers markets. These markets are lively community hubs where farmers, artisans, and neighbors come together. Stroll past stalls brimming with colorful produce, freshly baked goods, artisanal cheeses, and handmade crafts while chatting with the people who grow and create these treasures.

The Easton Farmers Market, one of the oldest in the nation, offers a rich tapestry of local flavors and community spirit every Saturday morning. You can often shop to the sounds of live music, provided by the Avalon Foundation. Held in the municipal parking lot on Harrison Street, this market continues past summer and is open year-round.
The St. Michaels Farmers Market runs on Saturday mornings, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. from April through November at 206 S. Talbot Street. This market has been going strong for over 25 years and emphasizes the importance of eating #postivelylocal. In addition to farmers and food growers, you can also find live music, pop-up vendors, and educational exhibits from local community groups.
During the summer months, local farmers, bakers, artists, and more are highlighted monthly at the Tilghman Little Big Market in the Post Office Parking Lot on Tilghman Island from 8:30 a.m. to Noon.
Entertainment Under the Setting Sun

As the sun readies itself for rest, Talbot County comes alive on select nights throughout the summer with the sounds of entertainment. Outdoor concert series and movie nights offer the perfect opportunity to unwind.
Whether you prefer jazz, blues, classical, or rock, there’s a concert for every musical taste. The Avalon Foundation in Easton hosts a popular summer concert series that draws local talent and nationally renowned artists to Harrison Street, between Dover and Goldsborough Streets on select Saturday nights. Pack a chair, bring a picnic, and let the music transport you during these performances, which begin at 7 p.m. and run through August.
Enjoy live music along the waterfront in St. Michaels at Muskrat Park every Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. from the end of May through August. Muskrat Park offers an expansive lawn with views of the St. Michaels Harbor and the Miles River. Limited picnic tables and a covered gazebo are available, but you may want to bring a blanket or chair.
Many of Talbot County’s restaurants offer live music as well.
