Talbot County roads offer classic Eastern Shore scenery. From the ever changing seasonal views of farmland to the ever present sights of the Chesapeake Bay, and the wildlife it supports, you’ll always find something new to discover on your ride. Here is our guide on where to ride, when to ride, and other hints to get you on your way!
Where to Ride
Truth be told, all roads in Talbot County lead to beautiful forested areas, vast water views, and farm landscapes. But, we’ve created special journeys where you’ll find quaint towns with beautiful old churches and ancient cemeteries, and learn a little history about our region and the nation’s origins.
Our bicycle map details six routes ranging from 26.7 miles to 38.2 miles, each with a different theme including Chesapeake Views, Cemetery Quest, and even a trail that highlights jousting (Maryland’s state sport).
Chesapeake Country All-American Road
The Chesapeake Country All-American Road, a 400-mile scenic byway that ambles through the Eastern Shore, showcases Talbot County’s miles of tidal shoreline, verdant fields and forests, and vibrant small towns. The spine of the byway follows U.S. Route 50 through much of the county, but sidetracks will take you right to the water’s edge for spectacular Chesapeake views.
