Art in Many Forms: Gallery Exhibits to Admire in 2026

Talbot County has earned the title of Arts Capital of the Eastern Shore, and it’s in large part because of the varied galleries that embrace artists working across a wide range of mediums and inspirations.

Academy Art Museum

The Academy Art Museum strives to promote the knowledge, practice, and appreciation of the arts and to enhance cultural life on the Eastern Shore. Located at 106 South Street, Easton MD. Opening at 10 a.m., the museum closes at 4 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays, but opens at 10 a.m. the remainder of the week. It stays open until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and closes at 4 p.m. on other days of operation.

Anne Lindberg: seen and unseen
Through Fall 2026

seen and unseen, a site-specific commission by 2025 Artist-in-Residence Anne Lindberg (b. 1962), explores how her abstract language of line, color, and light can transform our awareness of our environment and ourselves.

More Clay: The Power of Repetition
Sept. 4, 2025 – Feb. 1, 2025

The work of seven featured artists, offering views of powerful ceramic sculptures. The exhibition also features a community-based ceramic installation inspired by English studio potter Edmund deWaal. This exhibition is guest-curated by Rebecca Cross and was first presented at The American University Art Museum at the Katzen Center.

The Skin of Water
Nov. 25, 2025 – Feb. 22, 2026

Caryn Martin, a Baltimore-based artist, utilizes printmaking, painting, collage, and installation to explore the fleeting and fragile state of the environment. Her site-specific piece “The Skin of Water” is a relief paper installation that trails across the entire front wall of the Selections Gallery.

Rauschenberg 100: New Connections
Dec. 11, 2025 – May 3, 2026

Rauschenberg 100: New Connections focuses on the artist’s first trip to China in 1982. The milestone exhibition includes major works from the Academy Art Museum’s permanent collection and highlights Rauschenberg’s global vision, collaborative spirit, and deep personal ties to the Eastern Shore.

Spiralis Gallery is a contemporary art space dedicated to showcasing the bold, layered, and vibrant work of Afro-Caribbean and African diasporic artists-with a foundational focus on Haitian art. The gallery is located at 35 East Dover St. in Easton, and is open Thurs. – Sat. from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sun. from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on Wed. by appointment only.


Zach Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the Prager Family Center for the Arts, located at 17 S. Washington Street, Easton MD. Hours are Wed. to Sat. from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. or by appointment.

Spencer Reinhard: Fractured Flight
Nov. 7, 2025 – Jan. 3, 2026

Spencer Reinhard, a distinguished painter and mixed-media artist whose multilayered designs expand upon the rich tradition of avian art. His pieces pay homage to masters like Audubon while simultaneously engaging with contemporary artistic expression—transforming what began as a student’s reckless fascination into something fluid, creative, and redemptive.
