Chesapeake Bay Chamber Music Festival

Ebenezer Theater in downtown Easton, Maryland

Where Artists, Audiences, and Acoustics Come Together in Downtown Easton, Maryland!

The Chesapeake Bay Chamber Music Festival, now in its 40th year, is held over the course of two-weeks each June at the beautifully restored Ebenezer Theater in downtown Easton. It is a celebration of the ensembles that take on varied periods and styles of music.

What to Expect

Over two music-filled weeks, the Festival curates rotating programs that move from Baroque elegance to Romantic richness to contemporary voices. Intimate ensemble combinations highlight the conversational nature of chamber music, where every line matters and every chair feels close to the stage.

Artists and Programming

Each concert is built around a unifying idea, composer, or era. You might hear string quartets one night and piano trios or wind repertoire the next. Guest artists join core performers throughout the series, creating fresh collaborations and unexpected pairings that keep even seasoned listeners leaning forward.

Conversation with the Musicians

Audience interaction is part of the DNA here. Many performances conclude with a short Q&A, giving concertgoers a chance to ask about interpretation, instruments, rehearsal process, and the stories behind the music. It is an easy, welcoming way to deepen your listening.

The Venue Advantage

Set inside the 180-seat Ebenezer Theater, the experience is both polished and personal. Finely tuned acoustics bring out nuance at whisper-soft dynamics and brilliance at full ensemble. Sightlines are excellent, so you feel part of the performance no matter where you sit.

Free Open Rehearsals

Curious how a concert comes together? Sit in on free open rehearsals on Wednesday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 11 at 10 a.m. Registration is requested. You will hear artists refine phrasing, balance, and tempo in real time, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the collaborative craft of chamber music.

Tickets and Schedule

The Festival is a ticketed series with single-performance and multi-concert options. Visit the Festival website for the complete program lineup, artist rosters, and to purchase seats. Early booking is encouraged since the theater is intimate and popular dates sell quickly.

Make a Weekend of It

Plan time before or after the music to explore Easton’s walkable downtown. Enjoy locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and boutiques within a few blocks of the theater. Extend your stay with a scenic drive to nearby waterfront towns like Oxford and St. Michaels for more dining, shopping, and Chesapeake views.
