The location was just sublime! It allowed a respite from the mad, mad world…and lives we generally lead as always busy, always connected Americans! It is a truly beautiful, serene, sacred space of quiet and carefree living. We got stormed on the 2nd night but had glorious weather, otherwise, with cool breezes, strategically located hammocks, and a beautiful pool (went in it twice) offering respite from the heat. We marveled at the varied birds, such Osprey and swallows, hiked trails, explored neighboring towns that "roll up their sidewalks" for anything but food, although we took a sunset cruise. We opened gates, we closed gates. We tried to get barbecue around 4p at a place supposed to be open to 9p, but they told us they were closing in 15 mimutes," having done so well the weekend they were "out of most stuff!" My husband found a 10 dollar sub he loved but wasn't as crazy about our expensive anniversary dinner food, but I loved mine! The innkeepers, Bob and Tracy were very gracious, personable, dynamic (book publishers as well. Bob wrote a fascinating, thoroughky delightful to read, history of the Inn contained in a notebook in the rooms), informative and unobtrusive, but collaborated to turn out hearty, delicious breakfasts-souffles, pancakes, waffles, home fries and the like. Coffee and hot water were available throughout the day.The room only gets 4 stars….though it had awesome views, it was a little rough navigating it! We had an option to change rooms but it was either the head hazard or fall hazard (the other room had 3 teps down to it the 3 steps back up onto the bathroom and my husband felt our original room would be better due to him making bathroom trips, frequently!). All in all it exceeded our expectations and I definitely want a return visit!! Thank you, again, Bob and Tracy, for a wonderful stay!
Jun 21, 2026 · Google ReviewWe had our wedding at black walnut point inn May 16th. I can't say enough good things. It was intimate and beautiful. We had about 88 people there and used the tent outside. Bob & Tracy help us use different vendors and made everything so easy. the best part is that every morning they make breakfast. My friends came from all over to be with us and it was great being able to stay together and wake up every morning and eat breakfast together before the rush of the day. they made coffee, pancakes, egg bakes it was amazing. The grounds are absolutely beautiful I will attach photos. People often ask me how I found this venue…. I stumbled upon a video and did some research but what really stuck out in a world of automated messages and forms – Bob emailed me saying if you have time for a phone call I can explain everything and that was that. Him reaching out made all the difference! I really can't say enough good things about this as an Inn and a venue. It was so peaceful being out on the point with all the people we love most.

May 24, 2026 · Google ReviewThis place is an amazing wedding venue! My husband and I got married here recently. Bob and Tracy were incredible throughout the entire process. They were always just an email or phone call away. We also decided to rent out the entire place for the days following the wedding and had the most relaxing time. I would recommend this venue to all of my friends and family. Each day we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, prepared by the innkeepers themselves. The vibe is very homey and the sunsets were breathtaking. Would 100% get married here again, but hopefully wont need to!
Aug 16, 2025 · Google ReviewMy sister booked the Inn for the whole weekend for her wedding. The views at the point are just beyond compare. Moon full rising on the East as the sun set in the West was just magical. Bob and Tracey are amazing caretakers and such gracious hosts. The inn is an old historic building with lots of quirky charm. It is a great place to truly unplug – it doesn't have outlets everywhere for charging and there are no TVs. The cabins are more spacious and modern.
