Almost 50 years ago, Easton’s Hog Neck Golf Course was an Eastern Shore farm. Today, Hog Neck is one of the best municipal courses in the region, attracting golfers from near and far to test their skills on not one, but two, golf courses—an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole executive course designed by Lindsay Ervin.
Those who have been around awhile will remember that this golf course was a gift to the people of Talbot County. Philanthropist Nettie Marie Jones lived on the Eastern Shore and had played golf in her younger days. Her husband, W. Alton Jones, was president of Cities Services Company (now CITGO) and an avid golfer. He often partnered with President Dwight Eisenhower and was instrumental in developing Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters Tournament.
It’s said that Mrs. Jones believed the young people of Talbot County should at least be exposed to the game, and she donated Hog Neck Farm to the cause. Her affection for Talbot County and her vision for this property have stood the test of time, and residents and visitors alike still reap the benefits of her generosity.

Daniel GarrisonReally impressed by this course as it exceed my expectations. The course was in excellent shape, the pro shop and snack shack had great options, & the staff were all very friendly. The course is a little tricky in the sense that the back 9 is much more challenging than the front 9. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Added bonus – it is a great spot for plane spotting as the local municipal airport is right in line with the course.
