Justin BrummageWe went on the Patriot Cruises and had a good overall experience. It’s about a 70-minute cruise around the bay, and we purchased the tickets along with the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, which made it a convenient add-on. It’s a unique and affordable way to get out on the water and enjoy a relaxing boat ride while seeing some homes along the shoreline, though it is from quite a distance. The crew was very friendly and walked around chatting with guests, which added to the experience. One downside was that the captain seemed to heavily favor the right side of the boat, not really pointing out or talking about anything on the left side, which was a bit disappointing for those seated on the left side. Additionally, the captain mostly focused on the cost of the homes and what owners spent on them; while the pre-recorded portions provided more of the historical background, which was actually more interesting. Overall, a relaxing and worthwhile cruise, especially if you’re already visiting the museum.

Thomas QuinnReasonable price for an hour and 10 minute cruise on the Miles river. Historic mansions and homes. Some war of 1812 history. Beautiful views of nature and birds. Friendly, professional staff. Bar on board where you can get both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages plus snacks.

Austin GraffIf you enjoy a relaxing boat ride, Patriot Cruises is for you! One a two-level boat that looks like a historic ferry, the cruise is 70 minutes and includes a tour pointing out historic sites and beautiful waterfront mansions. The final 20 minutes includes music and relaxation. There's a bar and snack area in the lower level and enclosed seating with tables. Upstairs is open air seating. To see most of the properties noted, sit on the right side of the boat. Bring cash so you can tip at the end.

Jessica BriscoeWe took the Patriot cruise during Oyster Fest and really enjoyed it. It’s a 70-minute narrated ride down the Miles River with beautiful views, interesting history, and very reasonably priced drinks and snacks. Captain Matt even invited my kids up to the helm and let them help steer, which made their day! Highly recommend to anyone visiting St. Michael’s.
