Our room and everything was excellent. The young lady that was working there (cleaning, cooking) was wonderful, and the food she prepared was amazing and delicious. The location is practically in the center of town. Might try to go there again!

Based on the zero comments in the guest book on the coffee table in the reception area since June, versus the innumerable glowing reviews until then, and on a management change that seems to have occurred at about that time, this B&B no longer lives up to it's 5 star reviews. We stayed for several days in room #4. It was a tad larger than the other queen (#3) on the second floor of the Parsonage House and our room had a small closet, which #3 does not, but the space in our $400+ per night room was tight. There was little space for our luggage, no night table for my husband's CPAP, and only one of us could move around any side of the bed at a given time. Never mind! We shared with #2 and #8 what looked to be a lovely outdoor deck. Except … we could not lock the door to the deck from the inside our room and due to the loud, high-pitched condenser at the back of the restaurant next door, we could not enjoy the deck at all. Moreover, the loud condenser kept me awake at night. Our room temperature ranged from hot to comfortable to "goosebumps" cold. The three inside second floor rooms (#2, #3, and #4) share a hallway single thermostat – in a supposedly 'locked box' that anyone could reach inside to adjust. When new occupants found their room to be hot they would set the thermostat very low, leaving my husband and me freezing. This was not fun! Moreover, our rooms were never serviced during our three night stay. We discussed the condenser and thermostat issues with the other upstairs guests at our last breakfast and learned that everyone had the same frustrations. Most disappointing – the hosts, Ed and Connie, live elsewhere and spend their days at their other B&B property [see the 'George Brooks' website, on which the owners state that they are on-site from 7 am to 7 pm each day.] Rather than an on-site, available and knowledgeable host who can tell you about the house, can recommend nearby activities and restaurants, and is relational, the parsonage inn has been left in the care of a sweet earnest young female from Ukraine with limited English, who is responsible for everything from greeting and checking in guests to preparing and serving breakfasts. (She may also be responsible for cleaning the rooms.) Perhaps due to her limitations, she simply did not respond when we told her we couldn't lock the door to the deck. My spouse and I did not tell her about the condenser or thermostat issues. We figured she and the owners already knew about these. Besides, she was already doing her best to fill the shoes she'd been given to fill.

Very disappointing. We stayed at 5 comparably priced and similarly rated B&Bs for our east coast US trip. This was the worst, by a good margin, as we have mostly only delightful comments about other places. Perhaps, as suggested in a recent review by another guest, the place has had a change in management/ownership and gone downhill. For us, here is our stay. We pull into the parking lot with weeds, walk an untidy path covered with a large branch to the main door where we have an awkward check-in. Get to the room, which is in a dated motel addition on the back of the house, and thought to relax for a bit with the TV, but the channels do not work. We get help for the TV channels but eventually told this is a recurring issue, there is little to be done, and the owners are looking to switch providers. Got a recommendation to a restaurant that was terrible. Came back after our awful meal and thought to watch a DVD, but that does not work either. There is only one desk light in the room, so reading is not easy. Open the closet to junk and oddly extra lights, but there is no place to put them. We can open the bathroom door for extra light, but one bulb is out, and there is now nobody here. Bed is okay. Got up for breakfast, which is somewhat awkward as l guests sit around the same table. Receive reheated frozen potatoes that were still hard and cold on the inside along with a croissant that was not fresh. Accompanying pineapple was good, though. The only conclusion we can arrive at is something has changed and owners (new? old?) are cutting costs hoping that past reviews and reputation will tide them through. In a fair world, we should receive a partial refund.

My family and I stayed at the Parsonage Inn 8/4 – 8/6 and we booked the Dodson King Suite, Room #8||The suite was perfect with a king bed, sitting room and a bathroom with a shower.||We used the adjoining room that had two twin beds for my son. All of us were comfortable and enjoyed the suite. The Inn was very close to restaurants, shops, museums. We parked our car in the back and never drove the three days we were there at St. Michaels.||Very friendly staff. Breakfast each morning was fantastic! We loved it. Highly recommended!

Our recent three-day stay at the Parsonnage Inn was good but not without problems. We stayed in room #3 which faces a busy street. The room was small, but victorian houses were not designed for modern queen sized bed and its tall mattress. On the other hand, Victorians would have given the sink a nice clean wipe every day and emptied the small trash can. They would also have had windowes with working window shashes. Most difficult for us was the lack of effective AC during a couple of very hot days. The thermostat that regulates this room is in the hallway and our room temperature changed unpredictably from 64F to 82 F on the same temperature setting. Our nights were not comfortable and our request to be moved to a different room were delined (the inn was not fully booked). Like many Victorians we made the best of it and enjoyed the company of the other guests and the lovely places in St. Michaels very much.

My husband and I and another couple came to St. Michael's for a 2 day get away. I found this charming place online. It is a wonderful old home with all the amenities of home. The breakfast was delicious and so filling. The location was excellent. Directly across the street was the Maritime Museum and we were right on Talbot Street to walk the shops and see the sights. I highly recommend this place.
