I can recommend the Log Canoe Inn to anyone thinking of staying in the Saint Michaels area. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location ln is ideal, being on the water, just a short walk to all the stores and restaurants on the main street in St. Michaels. The Inn itself is like taking a step back in time to what it must have been like in the early 1800s, but with the modern amenities to make our stay comfortable. Our room (Oliver’s Gift) was cozy and functional reflecting the room sizes of the day with a remarkably comfortable bed and a wonderful view of the bay. The common front sitting room was very pleasant as well, offering a Keurig machine for fresh coffee at any time of the day, along with fruit, muffins and all sorts of goodies to snack on. The chairs on the front lawn offered a nice venue for our evening cocktail while watching the boats entering and departing the harbor. Our hosts Brittney and Robin, were kind and welcoming. Our stay at The Canoe Inn was a very pleasant experience for us, and I would recommend it to others traveling to this area.
Jun 28, 2026 · Google ReviewWhat a gem. Our suite was in a "cabin" separate from (but attached) to the main entrance. We had a direct view of the marina – only 30 steps on the grass to water's edge! To start, we loved the keyless entry system which was simple and flawless. The king bed and bedding were excellent! AC worked great and was not noisy. We used out credentials to log in for Netflix without difficulty (and these are automatically erased by management at the end of the stay). The bathroom was very nicely appointed with plenty of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. The shower stall was very clean but a tight fit. Water pressure was average for hotels nowadays. Kitchenette was very handy for us and nicely appointed with the basics. In the mornings (or anytime) we stopped in at the main welcome living room for light snacks to take with us. Reservations and all communication were handled very simply and efficiently by email and text with easy direct phone access to the owners if needed. Since the setup was perfect, we had no need to contact them. Parking is easy and free. Parking in the town was also easy as there are many parking lots all over the place but it is also very easy to walk everywhere and leave the car back at the Inn. We would stay again in a heart beat if we get back to St. Michaels (where the restaurants provided 5-star cuisine).
Jun 10, 2026 · Google ReviewWe absolutely loved our stay at the Log Canoe! We came to St Michael's by boat and the Log Canoe was an easy 5 minute walk from where we were docked. Excellent location, short walk to everything. Very comfy, gorgeous view of the marina, and nicely stocked snack, coffee and refreshment area. We will be back!
Jun 22, 2026 · Google ReviewIf you are planning to visit Saint Michaels (and you should), see if you can get a room at the Log Canoe Inn. Of course, Saint Michaels and the Miles River are famous for the Log Canoe races, which date back to the 1800s. The Inn is situated in Saint Michaels harbor, with amazing views and surrounded by restaurants and boats. However, what we found most interesting was the charm of our room. Each room is named after one of the Log Canoes that still race to this day. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Magic room, the boat that happens to be skippered by the owner of the Inn (and boat yard next door). The rooms aren’t large, but the attention to detail and the historical photos and images and furnishings show that the owners care about providing a unique experience that you can’t get in any other place in Saint Michaels. Our room had beautiful antiques, but also looked brand new and had everything you would want in a modern hotel. We have been to Saint Michaels many times, and for the most part, you want to be out on the town or in the water. The Log Canoe Inn gave us a historical perspective of where we are, with a great view too! If we are able to get in later this year, we will stay there again.
Mar 10, 2026 · Google ReviewWe had a lovely weekend at the Log Canoe Inn! The location was great. We loved being on the water and it was just a short walk to the main street, shops, restaurants, and the nature trail. Cottage was perfect. Coffee, drinks, and snacks in the main house were a nice treat.
