Given the expectations my wife and I brought to our stay at Sandaway, for a peaceful, romantic, and drama-free respite to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday, this 5-star rating is no exaggeration. One of the things the Sandaway seems to do well is attract guests who value the quiet, relaxed atmosphere that the property and hamlet of Oxford afford. Our stay was in mid-August, and while many of the vacation options available on the Eastern shore likely were filled with the din of folks anxiously compiling pics for social media documentation of their final summer holiday, there was none of that in evidence at Sandaway, thankfully. The place is a gem.

Ben is a wonderful host and goes the extra mile to make sure everything is going well for the guests. The property is stunning with beautiful, old trees, an expansive lawn and being right on the water. We love beach combing and the little beach was full of shells, sea glass and other treasures. The rooms are immaculate and have a feeling of being from another era. It was so relaxing that we tacked on another day to our vacation because we weren’t ready to leave this lovely gem of a hotel!

I loved this place, it was our first time. The Staff Ben and Amber were wonderful, supportive caring, and always there if you need anything! They immediately took action! We were caught in a bad storm while there but they made it mind easing and comfortable, it was great peace, quiet, relaxation was great. Rooms and bathrooms so clean. I rebooked for my birthday!!

This was one of the nicest experiences we’ve had! The staff was friendly and attentive, owners on site and welcoming like we were family. The check in was easy, and the welcome basket and daily coffee and breakfast basket (delivered to your door by 7am) were the icing on the delicious cake! The room? Outstanding. Spacious, CLEAN and well appointed. The view? Unparalleled. 💯 recommend

Perfect place for a getaway! Can’t beat the views. Wake up to hot coffee at your door. Staff was incredibly helpful- even mailing a forgotten item after our trip at no cost to us. We will definitely be back and highly recommend for a couples getaway!

My partner and I stayed at Sandaway for a weekend this July and loved it. The staff is friendly, gracious, easy to find and helpful. The buildings and suites are historic, charming as can be, comfortable, clean, well maintained, and unique. The grounds are gorgeous, peaceful, with lot's of space to relax, lounge and look at the water. I can't say enough good things about Sandaway, we will definitely be back.
