Staff were incredibly hospitable, the room was very clean and up to date, and the grounds were beautiful. The walls were a little thin and we could hear people above us but it wasn’t awful. I think our biggest complaint is that the bed was super soft and we woke up sore both mornings. When we first laid down it almost felt like a water bed. I suppose it’s a preference thing but if you need a firm bed, you may want to consider staying elsewhere.
Aug 6, 2026 · Google ReviewIf you’re looking for a charming boutique hotel with first-class amenities, exceptional accommodations, and world-class dining, Wildset is the place. Add to that the timeless allure of St. Michaels, and it’s an unforgettable destination. That said, what we will remember—and treasure most—is the extraordinary hospitality. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel genuinely welcome. Their attentiveness was remarkable without ever feeling intrusive—a balance that is difficult to achieve and one they have truly mastered. We’re already looking forward to our next stay.
Aug 1, 2026 · Google ReviewIncredible and friendly service – they were able to quickly get me a travel toothbrush since I forgot mine. Cute gift shop up front, and connected to Ruse. The location is perfect for shopping and visiting the many different restaurants. The rooms are a good size, and the bathrooms look really eccentric and neat. The only issue is ventilation – your towel will not dry, and the room will be a bit damp more than likely. Not a big deal though, still very well worth it for the comfortable bed/pillows.
Jul 10, 2026 · Google ReviewI wanted to love this hotel but the price just isn’t justified. Upon check-in we were told we’d have a tub in our room but did not, which truly is no big deal. However my seven year-old son got a nose bleed and when I went to the front desk to alert them we got a little blood on the bed, I was interrupted by the manager or owner (not sure) when asking if a room with a tub was available. She shook her head as I was mid-sentence and curtly told me they were full. The women at the front desk were lovely, but when you’re paying $800 per night you just expect better customer service, especially from the apparent proprietor. The rest of the staff were all wonderful and it’s not often I’ve found the staff better at their job than the manager/owner. I will say Ruse is an incredible restaurant, the morning breakfast is small but all you need (and a nice touch). But for $800 per night, it’s just too much for what you get. Next time we’ll stay elsewhere and visit Ruse.

Jun 26, 2026 · Google ReviewSuch a wonderful stay, truly. The location is perfect for walking to food and shopping. The building and property is gorgeous. The staff was incredibly accommodating as well and helped me pull off a nice balloon surprise for my husband’s birthday upon arrival. Plus Ruse downstairs was delicious and the walk from the room to the restaurant was incredibly convenient. The only ‘downside’ was being able to hear my neighbors but that can be expected due to the building’s age and charm. But they thought of everything because the room included a sound machine which made sleep so much better. Would absolutely stay again!
