The Porterhouse Farm was everything the website showed and more. This was our 4th family reunion in the Maryland area and I can honestly say every one of our 25 family members loved it and said it was their favorite place by far. Our rental ran from June 30 to July 6th. The temps reached 100+ but no one complained with the wonderful swimming pool and air conditioned house and lodge. The pool table and ping pong table in the lodge certainly got a work out. And speaking of the lodge it is beautiful and our older grandchildren loved having their own space. I would like to add that a wonderful bonus for us was John Dixon who actually built the house and lodge but who raises beef cattle that you will see in the nearby pastures. John and his wife were so nice and a wonderful source of info on the area. And I cannot forget the pond on the property that John has stocked. Our sons absolutely loved the fishing as they caught some really big ones so don't forget your poles. It is catch and release but still fun. There is much more to say but just know we loved it. The one word to describe our stay is "Awesome"! Stu Collier

We rented this amazing house for our extended family as 70th birthday gift for our Grandfather. The house was so spacious that we never felt crowded. Each morning, we enjoyed coffee in the sunroom. The tables were large enough to put the kids at a table and for the adults to sit in the dining room. The beds were comfortable, linens and bath towels provided were very clean. The house was clean and every kitchen cabinet/draw was labeled which was so helpful. The large pantry held all our food items so they were not on the counters. The garage fridge was very helpful and we filled it up! The kids enjoyed playing pool and we relaxed at night by the fire pit or watching a movie. The outside provided plenty of shade and the table/grill area was a bonus place. The rec room/garage was perfect for all ages & abilities! We had lots of pickleball games. The lawn was perfect for family photos during the “golden hour”, corn hole, kickball and throwing around a football. We fished off the dock, read books and watched the sunrise from the chair. The pool was clean and the perfect size. Great neighborhood for walks too. Would love to return.

We had the best time! This is the second year we stayed at this house, and we love it! I'm posting this review late. We stayed in July 2025. We are a multigenerational family of 7 adults and 2 young children. The decor and furnishings are very updated–coastal, relaxing, and comfortable. The bedroom layout works well for us. The kitchen, family room, and eat-in sunroom, which overlooks the water, all are perfect. The kitchen is very well appointed with plenty of room in cabinets to store your nonperishable items. The only thing our family could use is extra refrigerater space. The pool is perfection. Our young grandchildren really enjoy the small shallow swim pad, while our older kids enjoy floating around while reading their books. There are beautiful sunset views, and it's very enjoyable to sit out in the evening and toast marshallows, enjoy some wine and conversation. Finally, the house is very convenient to shopping, and to the towns of St. Michaels, Easton, and Oxford. I also love how easy it is to communicate with ESVR via text. They are very responsive and helpful! I love working with them.

What a lovely time we had at Blue Heron Villa for our Christmas holiday! The home is situated on a cove with spectacular views of Oak Creek. The rooms and bathrooms are large and appointed with everything we could need. The large open kitchen with large island made it easy and fun for everyone to gather together as we assembled meals. There are plenty of kitchen tools but it does take a minute to find them all in all of the cabinets and drawers. We brought our own drink ware but there was no need as the house is completely stocked of wine glasses, etc. Having the separate bar area outside of the kitchen was a wonderful addition. Also, the in law suite over the garage was a pleasant surprise with a second kitchen and two bedrooms. The folks at Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals did a great job assisting us with any issues we had. They were prompt and helpful even dropping by to attempt to get the fireplace up and running. We were disappointed not to have a working fireplace for the dinner we hosted but understand that these things happen. The only things we would suggest would be a whole house humidifier as the house was very dry and we all struggled with that after a day or two and to remove the gold dust bush outside the picture window in the dining room so that the view of the creek is unobstructed. Otherwise it is a spectacular home and it was a great gathering place for our Easton Christmas!

We had three generations together for Christmas and New Years at the Red Barn Farm. The setting is pure Eastern Shore and it is very close to St. Michael’s downtown. We love the house. The living areas downstairs are inviting, comfortable and practical. Lots of games, puzzles and books. A well equipped kitchen that is a joy to cook in, and very comfortable beds. We would love to return!

This is the second time we have stayed at “Pride and Joy”’of Oxford. My 95 year old mother-in-law lives in Oxford and as our families have grown we have needed to find places for our individual families to stay during our yearly get togethers. This house suits our multigenerational family of 6-4 adults and 2 kids perfectly. The house is in a great location and well stocked with everything needed to enjoy ourselves.

Cozy sun-lit house with many windows, pastoral views including water view from the kitchen and dining areas is a lovely retreat. We enjoyed the pickleball court with friends, and the pool and jacuzzi, and the covered outdoor lounging and dining space make for fun outdoor living in season. The house is comfortable with fireplace for chilly evenings, and all the amenities for in-home dining in a modern kitchen. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing home in the perfect location. We were in town for my daughter’s wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Plenty of room for the nine of us. We loved grilling and sitting on the deck around the fire pit. It was a magical weekend!
