The Reel Talbot County: Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries

Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries is legendary. When it comes to fishing, rockfish is the star of these waters. You can also haul Spanish mackerel and bluefish, along with drum, sea trout, perch, skate, croaker, and flounder. Talbot County’s captains command intimate knowledge of the waterways ensuring you’re in the best spot at the very best time.

Fishing for a Cause

The Talbot Chamber Fishing Tournament is held annually in June and is a half-day, multi-species event set on the sparkling waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Amateur fishermen and women can charter a boat from one of our area captains or register your own boat and compete for great prizes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Talbot Watermen Association, restoring the Chesapeake Bay and preserving the watermen’s heritage. You can learn more about the Talbot Watermen Association here. Check our calendar for the next event date.
