Celebrate Independence Day in Talbot County this July 4th

Celebrate Independence Day in Talbot County during a week-long carnival and three nights of fireworks surrounding the 4th of July!

With fireworks in three towns in three days, and all within 20 minutes of each other, you can get more bang for your weekend in Talbot County, Maryland!  Come join the towns of Easton, Oxford, and St. Michaels as they celebrate America’s Independence Day.  There’ll be a carnival atmosphere, vintage car parade, fireworks, and more.

Here’s what the schedule looks like for this year:

EASTON – INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

June 21 to July 4 | 6-10 p.m.
Waterside Village at Easton Shopping Center (Behind the Target store) | Easton Parkway (Rt. 322) & St. Michaels Road

All week long, enjoy a summer’s evening of amusement park rides, traditional carnival food, and live music.  On July 4th, the carnival will kick-off with live music at 6 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 7 p.m., and fireworks after dusk. In the event of rain, the fireworks will be pushed to July 5th.

Downtown Easton’s 4th of July Sidewalk Sale
July 4, 2024 l 8 a.m.

Start your 4th of July celebrations with a bit of shopping during Downtown Easton’s 4th of July Sidewalk Sale. Downtown retailers are clearing out their racks and making room for new inventory. This annual sale always offers BIG savings on clothing, apparel, home furnishings, and more.

ST. MICHAELS – INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Enjoy a traditional Independence Day Celebration with a children’s parade kicking off at 10 a.m. in which all are welcome to participate. Patriotic dress is encouraged for children, bicycles, tricycles, wagons, and pets! A traditional program begins at 10:45 a.m. with Boy Scout Troup 741 raising the flag.

Fireworks in the Harbor
July 6, 2024 l Dusk (Rain Date: July 7)

Anchor in the Miles River or bring your lawn chair and find a good spot in town to watch this year’s fireworks display in St. Michaels. For a unique experience, you can reserve a seat on the Sail Selina II, which offers a 4th of July Fireworks Cruise. Or, you can join the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for their annual Big Band Night, beginning at 6 p.m. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for an evening of music and dancing before the fireworks begin. The Shades of Blue Orchestra will bring their signature sounds to the Tolchester Beach Bandstand at 7 p.m. before attendees turn their attention to the Miles River to take in the town’s fireworks display. Food and ice cream will be available for purchase. The CBMM’s Big Band Night is a ticketed event.

Sponsored by the Tred Avon Yacht Club, the Oxford fireworks show celebrates Independence Day on the “Strand” – the beautiful riverside street along the Tred Avon River.  The sky lights up during this beautiful fireworks display, which begins at dusk. Bring your lawn chair and get a spot early!
